March 2002 A• Walker and Kurosaki visit in Kobe with Nakanishi-san of Nakanishi Farms and Stoike-san of Teishin to discuss post B.S.E. market situation in Japan.  Subsequent visits in Tokyo with Echigo Farms and retired Tokyo meat market executives.
B• Asahi Shinbun, a widely read newspaper in Japan, exposes the extent of the beef substitution activities of several large beef trading companies in Japan.  Some of these companies have been substituting Wagyu cross meat imported from Australia for Japanese full blood Wagyu meat.
