• The All Japan Wagyu Registration Association held what we in Australia would call their National 5 year Wagyu show.

The official name translations are as follows:

Zenwa = Zenkoku Wagyu Registration Association

Zenkoku = All Japan

Zenkyo = A shortened combination of:

Zenkoku = All Japan

Wagyu = Japanese Cattle

Nouryoku = Ability

Kyoushinkai = Development Association

September 2002 was the 8th Zenkyo within the following schedule:

5th	1987	Shimane
6th	1992	Ohita
7th	1997	Iwate
8th	2002	Gifu

The objective of Zenkyo (our translation)

The selection and exhibition of cattle which have not only good appearance but also enhanced value and return as demanded by the present market conditions.

The theme of the 8th Zenkyo

Improve the quality and production of Wagyu through young power and breeding value

	The All Japan Show is held every five years while prefectural development associations hold their own shows on an annual basis.

General details include:

	38 out of 46 national prefectures attended
	Final examination of Wagyu was 26-30 September
	Wagyu entered included 283 head of breeding cattle and 186 head of beef cattle.
