A• Shipment No. 1 Japanese Black Wagyu feeder calves leave for Japan.

On January 10th the first shipment to Japan left Westholme Tarana feed barns after required quarantine testing by AQUIS and at 7:30am on January 11th arrived at Kansai International Airport and entered Japanese quarantine at Kobe Quarantine Station. After inspection and testing the cattle were released on January 27th and delivered to customers in Niigata on the north west coast of Japan in Fukushima on the north east of Japan and in Kansai in the middle of Honshu, the Japan main island.

This shipment containing 55 full blood Japanese black Wagyu male and female feeder calves weighing between 250kgs and 300kgs comprised Wagyu from Westholme Wagyu herds and from Westholme associate Gooree Park Wagyu herds.

Calves loaded at 12:00 midday at Sydney Airport.
Calves arrive at Kansai International Airport next morning at 7:30am.

 

• State of the art Embryo Transfer facility operational.

New embryo transfer laboratory, office, accommodation and covered cattle yards were completed at Westholme Tarana during February 2000.
